Product Overview

NFC 33-209 Aerial Bundle Conductor ABC Cable 4×16mm² is a 0.6/1kV twisted overhead bundle cable manufactured to the French national standard NFC 33-209. Also known as Aluminum Insulated Twist Cable. It consists of four identical 16mm² aluminium phase conductors — Class 2 stranded compacted circular (7 wires, 5.0mm conductor diameter), each insulated with 1.2mm UV-resistant black HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene), laid up in a right-hand helical twist assembly. Unlike the 3×25+54.6 variants which use a dedicated aluminium alloy neutral messenger, the 4×16mm² configuration uses four identical conductors — the neutral is simply one of the four cores. HDPE insulation offers excellent UV resistance with slightly lower cost versus XLPE while maintaining 75°C continuous operating temperature. Designed for pole-mounted transformer to service head connections at ≤600V phase-to-phase, or ≤75°C conductor temperature when PE insulation is specified. The lightweight 4-core twist bundle (263 kg/km, 18mm OD) is ideal for short-span residential service drops and overhead distribution where all conductors are the same cross-section.
