Product Overview
LXRV Cable is a 0.6/1kV XLPE-insulated steel wire armoured PVC-sheathed power cable with aluminium conductor, manufactured to the Spanish national standard UNE 21123-2 and international standard IEC 60502-1. Naming follows Spanish UNE convention: L = aluminium conductor (aluminio), X = XLPE insulation (polietileno reticulado), R = round steel wire armour (armadura de alambres de acero), V = PVC outer sheath. For single-core AC circuits, steel armour wires are substituted by aluminium wires (designated IR) to prevent eddy current heating. LXRV is the standard Spanish SWA cable for outdoor fixed installations requiring mechanical protection against aggression, rodents, and direct burial. Available with both circular stranded and sector-shaped conductors, the latter offering a more compact cable diameter for the same cross-section.

Aluminium Conductor

XLPE Insulation
90°C continuous, 250°C short-circuit (max 5s). Test voltage 3.5kV AC (5 minutes). Insulation resistance ≥20 MΩ×km.
PVC Bedding
Extruded PVC separation sheath. Protects XLPE insulation from steel wire abrasion during bending and thermal cycling.
Steel Wire Armour
Galvanized steel wires, helical applied. Substituted by aluminium wires (IR) for single-core AC circuits to prevent eddy current losses.
PVC Jacket (ST 2)
Black PVC type ST 2 per UNE 21123-2. Flame retardant (IEC 60332-1). High resistance to UV, moisture, and mechanical abrasion.
