Product Overview
AAC — All Aluminum Conductor GOST 839-80 is a concentric-lay stranded bare aluminium overhead conductor manufactured to the Russian / CIS national standard GOST 839-80 (Bare wire for overhead power lines). Designated as type "A" (bare aluminium) within the GOST system, it is produced from hard-drawn aluminium alloy 1350-H19 (minimum 99.5% Al purity) and is the standard overhead conductor specification for power transmission and distribution infrastructure throughout Russia, the CIS states (Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, and others), and countries whose grid infrastructure was established under Soviet-era engineering standards.
Functionally equivalent to IEC 61089 AAC in conductor material and concentric-lay construction, the GOST 839-80 version differs in its cross-section series — the GOST standard uses a preferred number series that includes intermediate sizes such as 35, 50, 70, 95, 120, 150, 185, 240, 300, 350, 550, 600, 650, 700, and 750 mm² that are not present in IEC 61089. This makes GOST 839-80 AAC the correct specification for replacement, extension, or upgrade projects on existing GOST-designed overhead lines, where conductor sizes must match the original design cross-sections precisely. Available in nominal sizes from 10 mm² to 750 mm², with 31 standard cross-sections.
GOST 839-80 Certified
Fully compliant with the Russian national standard for bare overhead conductors — accepted without modification for projects in Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Belarus, Uzbekistan, and all CIS member states.
31 Standard Cross-Sections
Includes GOST-specific sizes (35, 50, 70, 95, 120, 150, 185, 240, 300, 350, 550, 600, 650, 700, 750 mm²) absent from IEC 61089 — essential for exact-match replacement of conductor on Soviet-era infrastructure.
1350-H19 Aluminium
Hard-drawn 1350 aluminium alloy, same high-conductivity material as IEC AAC. Conductivity of 61% IACS — maximum current capacity for a given cross-section area.
Corrosion Protection Options
Standard bare conductor supplied for atmosphere types I and II (moderate pollution). Grease-filled (infused) variant available for corrosive or high-humidity industrial environments — specified within GOST 839-80.
No Bimetallic Corrosion Risk
All-aluminium construction eliminates the galvanic corrosion at the aluminium-steel interface present in ACSR (A/AC in GOST nomenclature) — preferred in coastal and chemically polluted CIS environments.
Drop-In Replacement for Existing Lines
Exact GOST cross-section sizes and mechanical properties allow direct replacement of aged AAC conductors on existing GOST-designed towers without structural recalculation — minimising refurbishment engineering cost.

Key Features & Technical Advantages
Exact CIS Grid Compliance
GOST 839-80 is the mandatory specification for overhead line conductors in Russia and CIS member states. Using GOST-certified AAC ensures regulatory acceptance, utility tender qualification, and compatibility with existing infrastructure documentation without conversion or re-engineering.
GOST-Specific Size Series
The 31-size range includes cross-sections (35, 50, 70, 95 mm² in 7-wire, and 120, 150, 185, 240 mm² in 19-wire) that are standard in Soviet-era grid design but absent from IEC 61089 — mandatory for matching original conductor sizes in refurbishment and extension projects.
High Conductivity — 61% IACS
1350-H19 aluminium delivers 61% IACS conductivity — same as IEC AAC. Maximum current-carrying capacity per unit cross-section, minimising conductor size and weight for a given ampacity requirement.
Grease-Filled Option for Harsh Environments
GOST 839-80 provides for grease-infused (corrosion-protected) conductor variants for installations in corrosive industrial atmospheres — specified as "greased" in the ordering code. Suitable for petrochemical facilities, coastal industrial zones, and high-pollution environments.
No Steel Core — No Galvanic Corrosion
All-aluminium construction eliminates the bimetallic corrosion risk at the aluminium-steel interface present in GOST A/AC (ACSR equivalent) conductors — a significant advantage in humid, saline, or chemically contaminated CIS environments.
Wide Climatic Zone Coverage
Qualified for operation across all GOST 15150 macroclimatic areas in the UHL (Moderate-Cold) category — covering the full geographic range from Central Asian desert climates to Siberian sub-arctic conditions.
