Product Overview
Single Conductor URD Cable is a 600V XLPE-insulated individual underground residential distribution conductor with aluminium core, manufactured to ICEA S-105-692 and UL 854 as UL Listed USE-2, RUS accepted. Conductors are Class B compressed concentric lay stranded 1350-H19 or AA-8000 aluminium alloy per ASTM B231 / B800 / B801. Phase conductors are black XLPE; neutral conductors are black XLPE with yellow striping or full yellow jacket. Rated 90°C continuous dry/wet/direct burial, with 130°C emergency overload capability (max 100 hours per 12 consecutive months). Single conductor URD is the building block of all URD assemblies — individual phase and neutral conductors used separately in ducts, raceways, or direct burial for street lighting circuits, transformer risers, and custom field-cabled configurations. With 19 code-name variants from AWG 8 (Cornell) to 1000 kcmil (Fordham), this is the most comprehensive URD range available.
Aluminium 1350 / AA-8000
Class B compressed concentric lay. 1350-H19 or AA-8000 alloy. 7-strand (≤AWG 2), 19-strand (AWG 1-4/0), 37-strand (250-500 kcmil), 61-strand (600-1000 kcmil).
XLPE Insulation (USE-2)
Black thermoset XLPE. 90°C continuous, 130°C emergency overload. Insulation: 60 mils (≤AWG 2), 80 mils (AWG 1-4/0), 95 mils (250-500), 110 mils (600-1000).
Single Conductor
Individual conductors — no cabling. Build custom Duplex/Triplex/Quadruplex assemblies in the field, or use individually for street lighting and riser circuits.
600V Secondary + 130°C Overload
Rated 600V. 130°C emergency overload (100h/12 months) — higher than the standard 90°C USE-2 rating for contingency operation during network faults.
19 Code Names (8AWG–1000kcmil)
Comprehensive range: Cornell → Fordham. Dual-unit table with imperial (in/lb) + metric (mm/kg). Full NEC + ICEA ampacity data.

Typical Applications
Single conductor URD is the most flexible URD product — individual phase and neutral conductors for custom field-cabled assemblies, street lighting circuits, transformer risers, and any underground secondary application where a factory-cabled Duplex/Triplex/Quadruplex is not the right tool:
Street Lighting Circuits
Individual 600V conductors for underground street lighting loops. Field-cable with neutral for custom circuit configurations.
Transformer Riser Poles
Pole riser conduit from underground secondary to pad-mount or pole-mount transformer. High ICEA conduit ampacity rating.
Custom Field Assemblies
Build Duplex/Triplex/Quadruplex in the field for non-standard AWG combinations not covered by factory code names.
Direct Burial
Rated for direct earth burial without conduit. 90°C continuous, 130°C emergency overload for contingency operation.
US Utility Networks
ICEA S-105-692 + RUS accepted. UL Listed USE-2 per NEC 310.104(A) for all US utility underground secondary applications.
Duct & Raceway
Suitable for installation in underground electrical ducts and raceways. Highest ampacity per cross-section — no mutual heating from adjacent conductors.
