Product Overview
450/750V Halogen Free Polyolefine Insulated Wire HFIX is a single-core copper conductor wire with halogen-free polyolefin insulation manufactured to the Korean standard KS C 3341. HFIX = Halogen Free Insulated EXcellent — the LSOH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) alternative to the standard PVC-insulated IV and KIV building wires. When burned, the polyolefin insulation emits no halogen acid gases (HCl, HF, HBr), produces significantly less smoke than PVC, and generates primarily carbon dioxide and water vapour — a critical safety advantage in enclosed public spaces, tunnels, hospitals, and high-occupancy buildings where toxic smoke from burning PVC cables is the primary cause of fire fatalities. The insulation is rated 90°C continuous — the same temperature class as heat-resistant PVC/E (HIV wire) but achieved without the chlorinated compound chemistry that creates halogen gases under fire conditions.
HFIX is the Korean domestic implementation of the global LSOH building wire standard — structurally equivalent to the European H07Z1-K/R (halogen-free polyolefin, 90°C, 450/750V) and the international IEC 60754-1/2 compliant halogen-free wire. The KS C 3341 standard mandates a minimum 1.45 limiting oxygen index (LOI) for the insulation — meaning the material requires at least 45% ambient oxygen to sustain combustion, compared to ~20% for PVC. In a real fire, the polyolefin insulation self-extinguishes when the external flame source is removed, while PVC continues to burn and release dense, toxic smoke. The trade-off for this safety improvement is a slightly larger overall diameter than PVC wire for the same conductor cross-section (polyolefin requires a marginally thicker insulation wall to achieve the same dielectric strength) and a higher per-metre cost — but for Korean public buildings, subways, and high-rise residential construction where LSOH wire has been mandatory since the early 2000s under the Korean Fire Protection Code, HFIX is not an option but a requirement.
The dual conductor class availability (Class 1 solid for screw terminals, Class 2 stranded for conduit pulls) mirrors the IV wire range, with 22 sizes from 1.5mm² to 300mm². The standout feature is the 20 standard insulation colours — black, white, red, green, yellow, blue, green-yellow, grey, brown, sky-blue, orange, pink, purple, ivory, dark-blue, dark-brown, transparent, light-green, dark-green, light-blue — a dramatically wider palette than the 6-colour Korean PVC standard, reflecting LSOH wire's use in complex control panels, instrumentation, and industrial machinery where multi-colour identification of dozens of circuits in a single enclosure is essential. All sizes are 300m standard rolls except 240mm² (200m) and 300mm² (100m).

Top Row — Solid Conductor (Class 1):
Left: Longitudinal view — Conductor (solid copper rod) + Insulation (green halogen-free polyolefin jacket)
Right: Cross-section — single solid copper circle + green polyolefin ring
Bottom Row — Stranded Conductor (Class 2):
Left: Longitudinal view — Conductor (7-strand copper bundle) + Insulation (green halogen-free polyolefin jacket)
Right: Cross-section — seven copper circles in hexagonal packing + green polyolefin ring
Halogen-Free Polyolefin 90°C
Zero halogen acid gas emission when burned — CO₂ + H₂O only. LOI ≥45% — self-extinguishing. Same 90°C rating as heat-resistant PVC without chlorinated chemistry.
Low Smoke — High Visibility Escape
Smoke density ≤60% transmittance per KS C 3341. PVC emits 80-95% opacity smoke — LSOH preserves visibility for escape route navigation during fire evacuation.
Class 1 Solid & Class 2 Stranded
Both conductor types from 1.5-10mm² — solid for screw terminals, stranded for conduit pulls. Class 2 extends to 300mm² for heavy feeder wiring.
22 Sizes 1.5-300mm²
1.5mm² (20 kg/km) to 300mm² (2,830 kg/km). 300m rolls (≤185mm²), 200m (240mm²), 100m (300mm²). Export wooden case.
20 Standard Colours
Green-yellow earth, 7 phase colours, 12 auxiliary colours — the widest palette in any single building wire product. Multi-colour control panel and instrumentation wiring.
KS C 3341 — Korean LSOH Standard
Korean national standard for halogen-free polyolefin insulated wire. Equivalent to H07Z1-K/R (EU) and IEC 60754-1/2 compliant for zero halogen emission.

Typical Applications
HFIX halogen-free wire is mandated by fire safety codes for all enclosed public spaces in Korea — the wire that protects human life when a fire breaks out:
Hospitals & Healthcare
Zero toxic smoke emission — critical for patient evacuation where respiratory vulnerability makes PVC smoke fatal within minutes of exposure.
Subway & Tunnel Installations
Korean subway stations and tunnels mandate LSOH wire for all electrical systems — smoke in an underground enclosed space is the primary fatality risk.
High-Rise Residential
Mandatory in Korean apartment buildings per Fire Protection Code Article 34 — floor-to-floor wiring must be LSOH to prevent toxic smoke propagation through risers.
20-Colour Control Panels
Unique 20-colour palette enables individual circuit identification in complex industrial control panels — more than triple the standard 6-colour PVC range.
Korean Public Buildings
KS C 3341 certified for all Korean public building electrical installations — compliance with Korean Fire Protection Code for LSOH wire.
Fire Escape Route Wiring
Low smoke density preserves visibility for escape route lighting circuits — the difference between finding the exit and being blinded by toxic PVC smoke.
