Product Overview
Copper Core PVC Insulation House Wiring Electrical Wire 450/750V is a single-core copper conductor building wire with PVC insulation, manufactured to the Chinese national standard GB/T 5023 (equivalent to IEC 60227) and British Standard BS 6004. It is the most fundamental electrical wire in building construction — the standard single-core conductor used for fixed installation in conduits, trunking, and protected raceways for lighting, socket, and appliance circuits in residential, commercial, and light industrial buildings. Available with solid (Class 1) copper conductors from 1.5mm² to 10mm², and stranded (Class 2) conductors from 1.5mm² to 630mm², with PVC Type PVC/C insulation in thicknesses ranging from 0.6mm to 2.6mm depending on conductor size. Insulator colours are available across the full standard range — red, blue, green, yellow, black, white, green/yellow, brown, grey, orange, purple, yellow/green, and pink — enabling full compliance with IEC 60446 colour identification for phase, neutral, and earth conductors.
The PVC insulation compound (Type PVC/C per GB/T 5023) is formulated for 70°C continuous operation in dry conditions with a maximum short-circuit temperature of 160°C for 5 seconds. With an operating temperature range of 0°C to +70°C and a minimum installation temperature of 0°C, this wire is designed for protected indoor environments — it must not be exposed to direct sunlight, water, or mechanical stress outside of a conduit or raceway. The bending radius is 15× the overall diameter (as low as 36mm for 1.5mm² stranded) making it easy to pull through even the tightest domestic conduit runs. As a single-core wire, each conductor is purchased and installed separately — the electrician creates their own cable assemblies on-site by pulling individual phase, neutral, and earth conductors through the same conduit, giving complete flexibility in circuit design and spare capacity provisioning.
This wire bridges the gap between ultra-thin fixture wires (TF, AWG 18-16) and heavy power distribution cables (N2XY, 0.6/1kV). With a 450/750V rating, it is qualified for both single-phase and three-phase building distribution up to the main consumer unit — making it suitable for all internal building circuits from the distribution board downstream. The BS 6004 certification ensures acceptance in UK, Commonwealth, and Middle Eastern markets where British Standards are referenced in local building codes.

Typical Applications
Single-core PVC house wire is the most basic electrical cable — the individual conductor that forms the foundation of every building's electrical infrastructure. Electricians pull multiple wires (phase, neutral, earth) through conduit to build complete circuits:
Residential Wiring
Standard single-core wire for lighting, socket, and appliance circuits in homes. Pulled through conduit per local building code.
Commercial Building
Fixed installation in conduit, trunking, and cable trays in offices, retail, and commercial buildings up to 450/750V.
Distribution Board Wiring
Internal wiring of consumer units (fuse boxes) and electrical panels — stranded for flexibility in tight enclosures.
Lighting Circuits
1.5mm² solid for domestic lighting ring — the most common electrical wire sold by volume. Low current, high volume application.
Asia-Pacific Markets
GB/T 5023 (=IEC 60227) certified. Standard wire for all Chinese and Southeast Asian building electrical installations.
UK / Commonwealth
BS 6004 certified. Accepted in UK, Ireland, Middle East, Africa, and all markets referencing British wiring standards.
