Product Overview
JHSB Flat Submersible Pump Cable is the flat-profile variant of the JHS submersible cable family, designed specifically for deep borehole well pumps where the narrow annular space between the pump casing and borehole wall makes a round cable impractical. The three conductors are arranged side-by-side in a flat parallel layout and encased in a single CPE (Chlorinated Polyethylene) waterproof rubber sheath, producing a flat ribbon profile that lies flat against the pump body and drop pipe — minimising drag, preventing twisting during installation, and fitting through borehole casings too tight for round cable.
Manufactured to GB/T 5013, JHSB is rated at 300/500V (Uo/U) with a test voltage of 2.5 kV AC. Each conductor uses the same proven construction as JHS: Class 5 fine-stranded bare copper for flexibility, individually insulated with EPR (Ethylene Propylene Rubber) for superior water resistance and dielectric stability under continuous submersion. The flat profile is the only structural difference from JHS — insulation material, sheath compound, and conductor specification are identical.
JHSB is rated for submersion depths up to 500 metres and a maximum continuous working temperature of 65 °C. Available in 3-core configuration (standard for three-phase submersible motors) in conductor sizes from 1.5 mm² to 95 mm².

CPE Flat Outer Sheath — Single waterproof sheath encasing all three cores in flat parallel layout
EPR Insulation (per core) — Individual ethylene propylene rubber insulation on each conductor
Class 5 Bare Copper Conductor — Fine-stranded per GB/T 3956, three conductors side-by-side
Flat Profile — Lies flat against pump body and drop pipe; no twisting, no tangling in borehole

Key Features & Advantages
Flat Profile for Borehole Installations
The flat ribbon body slides into narrow borehole casings where a round cable would jam or restrict pump clearance. The profile lies flush against the submersible pump body and drop pipe, leaving maximum water flow area in the casing.
Anti-Twist — No Tangling During Deployment
A round cable rotates as it is lowered, causing the conductors to twist and the cable to bunch at the pump head. JHSB's flat geometry resists rotation — the cable pays out straight and retrieves straight, even from depths of hundreds of metres.
500 m Depth Rating
CPE sheath and EPR insulation maintain waterproof integrity under the hydrostatic pressure equivalent to a 500-metre water column (approximately 50 bar) — covering the deepest agricultural and municipal boreholes in regular use.
EPR Insulation Under Pressure
Ethylene Propylene Rubber maintains stable dielectric properties under high hydrostatic pressure and elevated temperature. Unlike PVC, EPR does not harden at low temperature or plasticize-migrate under prolonged water immersion at depth.
CPE Waterproof Outer Sheath
Chlorinated Polyethylene sheath provides oil resistance, UV resistance for the surface portion of the cable run, ozone resistance, and abrasion resistance against the borehole casing wall during installation and retrieval.
Class 5 Fine-Stranded Copper
Highly flexible Class 5 conductors prevent conductor fatigue during the repeated coiling and bending experienced when the pump is lowered, retrieved for maintenance, and re-deployed over its service life.
