H05Z-U / H05Z1-U Low Smoke Halogen Free Electric Wire 300/500V is the smallest-gauge solid LSOH building wire in the European harmonised range — three conductor sizes (0.5, 0.75, 1.0mm²) for signal, control, and panel wiring applications where low corrosive gas and fume emission is a mandatory requirement. The H05 voltage class (300/500V) distinguishes these micro-gauge wires from the H07 (450/750V) power wiring class — H05 is specifically designated for signal and control circuits inside equipment, panels, and appliances where the maximum system voltage does not exceed 300V to earth. The solid bare copper conductor (Class 1) provides the simplest termination possible — a single copper core that seats perfectly in screw-down and push-in terminals without strand separation or splaying. LSOH thermoplastic polyolefin insulation delivers the full zero-halogen, low-smoke safety profile with a compact 4×D bending radius — remarkably tight for a solid LSOH wire, achieved because the conductor cross-sections are so small (OD range 2.1-2.8mm) that even a solid copper core bends freely.
At 0.5mm², H05Z-U is the thinnest LSOH wire in our entire product range — an 8 kg/km weight and 2.1mm OD that disappears into the tightest panel trunking and cable management channels. The 39.0 Ω/km resistance at 0.5mm² is appropriate for signal-level circuits drawing milliamps to a few amps — relay coil wiring, indicator lamps, PLC I/O connections, and instrumentation loops. The 300/500V rating with a 2,000V test voltage provides ample dielectric margin for equipment operating at 230V mains, while the LSOH chemistry ensures that if the equipment does experience a fire, the wiring contributes zero corrosive gas that would destroy adjacent electronic components.
